CARE CENTER COAT DRIVE

Thanks for helping to keep a child warm this winter!!

On October 18, 175 families came to visit the Care Center where they received a warm meal, free groceries and the option to shop for winter coats for their children. Over 400 kids left the building with huge smiles and brand new coats to help keep them warm this winter.  It was a great night watching their joy as they shopped for just the right coat and this was all made possible by the generosity of so many of you.  Over 100 coats were donated and we raised funds to help us purchase the other 400, a value of over $16,000.

This great night would not have been possible without the many people who came to volunteer their time and talents.  Our volunteers helped keep the parking lot safe, decorated crafts in the Kids Corner, assisted guests in selecting coats, served a warm meal and dessert, shopped for groceries, and joined the guests in prayer. Many families were able to experience the care we have for them and to see the love of Jesus on display.

If you were not able to shop or donate before and would like to contribute, we will be leaving the fund open until the end of October.

We extend our gratitude for being instruments of God in such meaningful and invaluable ways.

“I have been coming to your Caregiving Center for months. I would like to say how pleased and grateful I am to come and spend time at the center. I have regained a new found belief in Christ due to the wonderful people who work together to make this night very enjoyable. Each and every person who works there is a breath of fresh air, they are cordial, pleasant, God fearing individuals who make me feel like I am part of the family. It has been awhile since I have seen so many caring, friendly smiling faces at one time.” (Care Center guest)

"The Care Center is a great and tangible way to be doing the work of God rather than just talking about it."
"I love the relationships I've been able to build with people over the weeks. I also love being able to serve alongside people who I do real life with and attend church together."

DONATE

The Care Center depends on the generous support of gifts made to Glen Ellyn Bible Church. At Glen Ellyn Bible Church, we believe that God owns everything; when we give, we are simply giving back a portion of what He has entrusted to us. We also believe He has called us to show (e.g. caring for those with physical needs) and share (i.e. caring for those with spiritual needs) the love of Jesus. One vehicle through which we strive to do this is the Care Center. To financially support this effort online, simply click the link below. Or visit our Giving Page for information on additional ways to give.
