Small Group Ministries

In a church our size it's possible to attend regularly and still never quite find a place of connection, so leadership strongly recommends that everyone plug into a small group.

A small group consists of four to twelve adults, meeting together on a regular basis (usually once a week or every other week), providing one another with a place to grow spiritually.

We believe that some of the best emotional, physical and spiritual care giving can be done as a small group of people gather regularly to encourage and support one another along the journey of life.

The writer of Ecclesiastes affirms the impact intimate friendships have upon our lives writing:

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Clearly, intimate connection with others is of the utmost importance in our spiritual journey. According to the Scriptures, we accomplish more, we're more likely to overcome the pitfalls of life, we avoid loneliness and we are not easily overpowered when attacked. Therefore, a small group experience is an indispensable part of spiritual growth at GEBC.

We currently have several different types of groups meeting together. Contact Brian From, Adult Ministries Pastor for details at or 630.469.2964.
