Our Church

Our Means

We grow as disciples by opening ourselves to the Holy Spirit’s work in our life through practicing spiritual disciplines.

While we realize that spiritual new birth and growth as disciples of Jesus Christ are brought by the Holy Spirit’s work in our life, we also understand that we are capable of both cooperating with, as well as resisting, the Spirit’s work. Toward that end we have identified the following means for making ourselves available to the work of the Holy Spirit.

  • Attend corporate worship weekly
  • Read our Bibles and pray daily
  • Participate in an adult Sunday school class or some other form of continuing Bible education
  • Serve regularly, employing our spiritual gifts in a ministry
  • Give sacrificially and cheerfully of our income to GEBC
  • Incorporate our faith in daily conversations, looking for opportunities to share the gospel
  • Participate in a small group or other spiritual accountability relationship
  • Participate in a short-term (3-10 days) cross-cultural mission trip
  • Listen to and selflessly respond to the needs of others
