Local Outreach Ministries
Ushering (Ongoing)
Ushers welcome and encourage people as they enter the Worship Center, handing out bulletins, seating people and passing the offering plates. Ushers serve once a month and one special service per year.

Greeting (Ongoing)
Greeters welcome and encourage people as they enter the church and assist people with directions to classrooms, restrooms, etc. Greeters serve once a month and one special service per year.

Hospitality Team (Ongoing)
The team rotates Sunday mornings, setting up coffee, tea and breakfast snacks in Rathbun Hall. This team also provides food following special services.

Christmas Walk (November)
The Glen Ellyn Christmas Walk takes place on the Friday after Thanksgiving and helps to kick off the Advent season. Small gifts and invitations to the GEBC Christmas services are handed out to the community during the Christmas Walk.
Easter (March/April)
Easter gifts are created as invitations to be given to friends, family and neighbors to join us for our Good Friday activities and Easter services.
Small Groups (Ongoing)
A great way to get connected! These groups consist of 4-12 people and are a safe place to grow in faith. Small groups meet in members' homes and are either led by leaders or by group members on a rotating basis. Each group chooses its own focus including marriage accountability, men's or women's group, Bible study, book study, service, etc.
Outreach Events (Ongoing)
Throughout the ministry year various events are planned to provide opportunity to unite people to the GEBC fellowship. The purpose of the event appears to be social but its underlying purpose is to connect the disconnected. Sample events include bowling, dances, ball games, age-based picnics, etc. To make each event effective, blocks of GEBC volunteers are needed.
Evangelism
Partners in Evangelism (Ongoing)
This ministry connects folks to established evangelist organizations.
Tip of the Spear (Ongoing)
Tip of the Spear is a group of people who are learning how to do personal evangelism. This ministry is for those interested in getting to know our guests and assisting those who are seeking in the assimilation process.
Partners in Compassion
Bridge Communities (Ongoing)
GEBC is partnering with Bridge Communities to provide housing for families in need. Additionally, there is a team from the church that mentors these families in budgeting, parenting and life issues.

World Relief (Ongoing)
A team of volunteers from GEBC provides assistance in assimilating refugee families into our neighborhoods. The team works for under the direction of World Relief and in conjunction with other churches in our community.

Glen Ellyn Food Pantry (Ongoing)
The Glen Ellyn Food Pantry is another partner with GEBC meeting the ongoing needs in our community. A team of volunteers work in food distribution and/or participates in several food drives throughout the year.

Compassion Contributions (Ongoing)
This is a team of GEBCers who collects furniture and household items to distribute to our compassion ministries.

Repeat Boutique (Ongoing)
This team from GEBC volunteers to sort and distribute clothing, linens and household items to missionaries and those in need.

Walk-In Ministries (Ongoing)
This team volunteers at the Glen Ellyn Walk-In Ministries providing food, transportation and shelter to those in need.

Global Outreach Ministries
Mission Committee (Ongoing)
This ministry provides support for the global missionaries supported by Glen Ellyn Bible Church. The Mission Committee also plans, coordinates and provides partial funding for both long and short-term missionary trips. Additionally, the Mission Committee provides counsel and directions for missionaries in training from GEBC. Meet Our Missionaries...
