Men's Retreats & Outings

Every year, the men of the church gather together for a two-night weekend retreat. Retreats are a good balance of fellowship and study as the men get away from the pressures and demands of life and grow spiritually.

Our next retreat is September 17-19, 2010 at Expeditions Unlimited in Baraboo, WI. Jeff Helton, Marriage and Family Pastor at Fellowship Bible Church in Franklin, Tennessee will be our teacher. About Jeff:

Jeff Helton is passionate about relationships and at the core of his passion is a desire for people to live life free and abundantly. Jeff spends much of his time encouraging marriages and men in their growth and development. Jeff is a teaching pastor at Fellowship Bible Church in Brentwood, Tennessee where he serves on the weekend teaching team and on the elder board. He speaks frequently on the topics of marriage, relationships and men’s issues.

Prior to his role at Fellowship, Jeff served in a variety of pastoral positions at Glen Ellyn Bible Church for 12 years.He was the original teacher of Men’s Fraternity at GEBC. Jeff and his wife, Lora, were married in 1987 and have four children. Jeff is a graduate of Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois, where he earned masters degrees in New Testament Theology and Communication.

All men are welcome to join us during the fall for 18 holes of fun and fellowship.

This bi-annual event takes place on a Saturday morning when men get together to support the single moms, the senior women and widows of the church. They provide labor and some supplies for “handy man” projects such as cleaning, raking leaves, minor building repairs, etc.
