scott karow, worship ministries director

Scott joined the GEBC staff full-time in December of 2005 after serving in a part-time capacity for several years. Born and raised in Madison, WI, he attended Moody Bible Institute, where he completed his B.A. in Broadcast Communication in 1995. Upon graduation, he served 10 years at Moody as an Event Producer before moving to GEBC. Scott and his wife Ann have two boys, Jordan and Jonathan, who keep life busy and enjoyable. Scott enjoys spending his free time participating in and watching sports, as well as enjoying music, art and reading.
Anthony joined the GEBC staff as the Senior High Director in January 2009. Anthony grew up on the Iron Range of northern Minnesota. Right out of high school Anthony felt the call of missions on his life and joined "Youth With a Mission Minneapolis." Anthony is passionate at seeing students come to a growing knowledge of who Christ is in their lives. Anthony loves to travel, experience new cultures, and to meet new people. In his spare time you will find Anthony working out at the YMCA in Glen Ellyn or playing/watching any type of sports.
Kristen Marquardt, children's ministries director

Kristen joined the staff as the Children’s Ministries Director in August 2008. Kristen was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs. She graduated from Northern Illinois University in 2000 with a B.A. in Media Communications. Upon graduation, Kristen has worked alongside children/youth in a group home for troubled girls as well as on staff at a previous church with children’s ministry. Kristen is passionate about discipling kids and challenging them to grow deeper in their relationship with Christ. She enjoys spending her free time in the outdoors (especially when it’s hot!), traveling to new cities, and hanging out with her friends and family.
Jennifer Ogaard , Children's Ministries Assistant Director

Jennifer Ogaard began serving at GEBC as Children’s Ministry Assistant Director in May of 2007. Jennifer grew up in rural Minnesota and has a B.S.in elementary education and B.A. in student personnel services from Minnesota State University, Moorhead. Jennifer is a certified elementary education teacher and has experience working in Children’s Ministry as well as in public and private schools. Jennifer lives in Carol Stream with her husband Kevin. They have a daughter, Karisa, son-in-law Randy and granddaughter, Taylor. Jennifer enjoys gardening, walking, biking, rosemaling (folk painting) and spending time with her family.
Dan joined the GEBC staff as the Junior High Director in September 2009. He was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. He graduated in 2004 from Judson College with a degree in Youth Ministry/Adolescent Studies. Judson is also a special place as it is where he met his wife Holly. October 2010, Dan and Holly will be the proud parents of triplets! Dan is passionate about helping students know Jesus, walk with Jesus, and become more like Jesus. Dan and Holly have served in student ministry for awhile now, and also have a big heart for missions work. He loves baseball (especially the Cubs), the Dominican Republic, warm weather, his dog Dixie, and “a good Chicago Style Hot Dog”!
Evelyn is responsible for the day-to-day budget and operational decisions of the church and the administrative oversight of total church programming. She graduated from California State University, Fresno with a BS in General Agriculture, which gives her a unique understanding of how to grow disciples! Her additional studies in accounting and administration led her to join the GEBC staff in 1998 after being a member of GEBC since 1987. She lives in Glen Ellyn with her husband Paul and they enjoy traveling, hiking, snow shoeing and visiting their children Andrea, Grant and daughter-in-law Lani in Colorado.
Jason, who was born and raised in Glen Ellyn, joined the GEBC staff in 2002 after having worked at Willow Creek Community Church for eight years as Associate Music Director. Jason and his wife Kim, are always strategizing ways to spend as much time with each other as well as their 3 kids, Jonah, Molly and Claire. Jason also loves to spend what he has of his personal time on the diamond strategizing ways to strike out opposing batters.
